Gallery Hours & Informationuparrow

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center Gallery is located at 801 3rd Corso in Nebraska City and is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Don't hesitate to inquire if you'd like to visit at another time as we are typically in the office, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Receptions for the exhibiting artists are usually scheduled on Saturday afternoons or the first Thursday of the month. The gallery is also open for special First Thursday Open Studio events.

Privacy and the Plains

Opening Monday, January 9, Privacy and the Plains features new work by Lincoln photographer, Kimberly Thomas. The exhibition will consist of a body of recent photographs that examines the artists’ feelings toward her now familiar surroundings and understanding of how one finds a comfortable place within them.

Originally from Missouri, Kimberly Thomas now resides in Lincoln, NE. Kimberly received her MFA degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008. She has taught photography at Metropolitan Community College and Creighton University and is currently teaching at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Thomas’ work has recently been featured in solo exhibitions in Lincoln (NE), Kalamazoo (MI), Kansas City (MO), and Omaha (NE).

The public is invited to a reception for the artist on Thursday, February 2 from 5 - 7 p.m. in conjunction with a KHN monthly First Thursday Open Studio event. The exhibition runs through Thursday, March 1.

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts is located at 801 3rd Corso in Nebraska City and is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Appointments at other times are encouraged: please call ahead. Both the exhibit and the reception are free, handicapped accessible, and open to the public. Works included in the show will be available for purchase through the artist.

Application to Exhibituparrow

The gallery at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts mainly exhibits the work of Nebraskan artists. Work by regional artists and artists at various stages in their career is also shown. Artists are selected through a juried application process and/or by invitation. Proposals for the 2013 Exhibition Schedule are currently being accepted.
