No Place In Time brings
together recent works by Joe Ruffo, Gary Day, Ken Anderson, and Santiago Cal
— four artists serving on the Kimmel Harding Nelson Board of Directors. The exhibition runs November 5 through December 15,
with a reception for the artists on Saturday, December 1, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Joe Ruffo, who recently retired
as Chairman of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of
Nebraska – Lincoln currently serves as Chairman
of the Board of Directors for the Art Center. Gary Day teaches art at the University
of Nebraska at Omaha, Ken Anderson at Peru State College, and Santiago Cal at
UNL. Each of the artists has exhibited widely.
The sculptures and works on
paper brought together for this exhibition employ altered physical scale and
invented environments to infuse ordinary objects and the human figure with
unexpected meaning.
