Perspectives, an exhibition of small works — paintings, drawings, ceramics, and sculpture — by thirty-four Midwest artists, begins Monday, August 25, at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City.

 

Visitors to the exhibition will be treated to the talented and diverse “perspectives” of artists Joe Brogrhammer, Kate Brooke, Roger Bruhn, Judith Burton, Larry Ferguson, Robert Hillestad, Bill Shaffer, Bryce Speed and many others. Perspectives is selection of compelling contemporary works ranging from the abstract to realistic representation from the inventory of Modern Arts Midwest (MAM).

 

Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, MAM’s directors, Larry and Judy Roots, are dedicated to supporting the most distinctive studio artists residing in the Midwest. MAM exhibits and maintains an ongoing inventory of works by artists in all stages of their careers, ranging from nationally recognized to emerging artists.

The public is invited to The Kimmel Harding Nelson gallery to meet Larry and Judy Roots and artists with works in the Perspectives exhibition at a reception on Thursday evening, September 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Perspectives will remain on exhibit through Thursday, October 16, 2008.

The Kimmel Harding Nelson is located at 801 3rd Corso in Nebraska City and is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Appointments at other times are encouraged. Both the exhibit and the reception are free, handicapped accessible, and open to the public. Exhibited artworks are available for sale.
