Amy MacLennan is an Indiana native, where she worked for a number of years as a designer before pursuing her MFA in painting at Indiana State University. She taught painting, drawing, design, printmaking, photography and art history in venues ranging from Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, to Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. Amy is a member of the Terre Haute Figure Drawing Co-op, and helped to initiate a printmaking co-op there. Most recently, Amy was Assistant Professor of Painting at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. Amy's imagery arises from quiet and intimate observations of forms and the activated spaces between them. She is excited at the prospect of a residency at the Kimmel-Harding-Nelson Center for the Arts, and how the environment of Nebraska City will inform her work. Amy is married to the painter Michael Neary.
