His work has been performed at the Cohen New Works Festival and Stack/Overflow; he has collaborated with Invoke string quartet, saxophonist Sarah Hetrick, playwrights Daria Miyeko Marinelli and Travis Tate, and visual artist James Cross. James has been a fellow at the at Atlantic Music Festival, the Valencia (Spain) International Performance Academy (VIPA), the HighScore Festival in Pavia, Italy, and at the Can Serrat Artists Residency in El Bruc, Spain. When he’s not composing, James can be found cooking for his friends and family, learning about the subtle differences between Escarpment Live Oaks and Coastal Live Oaks, or playing Saxophone and Cowbell with Salsa/Fusion band Hecho a Mano.
