Laura Cobb is a photographer from Overland Park, Kansas based in Lincoln, Nebraska. She received her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Nebraska and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute. In her work, she weaves together varying narratives as she explores our connection to each other and the land. Cobb has been an artist in residence at Ucross Foundation, Jentel Artist Residency, and Brush Creek Foundation, and she was a Graduate Fellow with the Center for Great Plains Studies. In May 2023, she was one of five recipients nationally recognized with the “Innovations in Imaging” student award from the Society of Photographic Education. Her work will also be featured as an Urbanautica Institute Awards Winner, and in 2023, she received a special mention in “An Ecology of Seeing” for Blurring the Lines, curated by Yining He. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and she was recently selected for a 2024-2025 Fulbright Fellowship in Germany.
