Dan Langa is a Northampton, MA-based composer, producer, and sound engineer creating primarily electroacoustic music with bold, vivid textures. A collaborative spirit, he often works across mediums with artists in film, dance, and music to create multimedia works. Langa is a co-founder of cmntx records, an artist-run NYC label. Recent projects include the debut album After Nothing Comes, from his new project Fugue State out on Switch Hit records and a debut EP from electroacoustic trio Other Faces who recently served as So Percussion Studio Residents. He has received recognition from the ASCAP Foundation, Ucross Foundation, Bang On A Can, among others. He holds a BA from Amherst College (magna cum laude) and an MM in Music Theory and Composition from NYU, where he studied with Julia Wolfe and Robert Honstein. He has held teaching positions at Amherst, Mount Holyoke, and Smith College.
