Robert Miller
I was born in 1946 in Elkhart, Indiana the youngest of three chlldren. My oldest sister is still alive and she is also an artist.
At a young age I can remember drawing from outdoor magazines wildlife. After graduating from high school I moved to Chicago and attended the American Academy of Art for two years. It was geared towards preparing students for a career in graphic art. In 1967 I went to California to attend the California College of Arts and Crafts (now known as the California College of Arts) in Oakland. It was a wonderful experience that I value to this day. I found the world of fine arts there and have found my voice in this language.
After graduation with a BFA I returned to Chicago where I met my beautiful, loving, wife. We married in 1976 and have lived in Chicago, Arkansas, and Kansas City before settling in Omaha in 1990. We have two sons now in their 20’s.
Art has always been my true vocation and passion. I’ve always had a place to make art even if it was just a drafting table in the corner of a room. Nowadays I am fortunate to have a studio in a store front building close to my home. I have shown in many cities, with the most recent at gallery 616 in Omaha Nebraska. I was nominated for best 3D artist - Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award in 2012. I also have a show opening at the Sunderland Gallery at St Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha on February 10th, 2013. “ Arranged Music “.
