Jason Kisare is an actor, musician, and composer whose work captures timely racial issues through daring, thought-provoking storytelling. A recent Yale graduate, he premiered three original musicals there—Long Way Down (an adaptation of Jason
Reynolds's award winning book), Black Boy Therapy!, and Black Santa—earning a nomination for Yale’s Sudler Prize for Excellence in the Performing and Creative Arts. He holds a B.A. in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies with a focus on musical
theater writing, studying under Jeanine Tesori, Kirsten Childs, Michael Korie, Scott Frankel, and Joshua Rosenblum. Jason has received fellowships from Yaddo and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and his music has been performed at 54
