Chelese Belmont
Chelese Belmont is a Los Angeles-based screenwriter, producer, and actress whose work centers the stories of women and queer people across character-driven dramasand topical comedies. She graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in
History, then attended the MFA program at the Actors Studio Drama School in New York City. Chelese has written four feature-length and nine short screenplays, many of which have placed in screenwriting competitions. Through her production company, Beleeve
Entertainment, she has also produced several award-winning short films that have been released on digital platforms. She was a Stowe Story Lab: New Mexico, New Voices fellow in 2022, and after a pause to beat cancer in 2023/2024, she is currently in post-
production on the fifth short film that she wrote and produced. Her most recent effort is the adaptation of one of her short screenplays into her next narrative feature script.
