Carlina Duan is a writer, scholar, and teacher. She is the author of the poetry collections I Wore My Blackest Hair (Little A, 2017), and Alien Miss (Univ. of Wisconsin Press, 2021). Carlina received her M.F.A. in Poetry from Vanderbilt University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan’s Joint Program in English and Education. Her recent poems appear in POETRY, Narrative Magazine, Poets.org, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. Carlina is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she teaches poetry in the creative writing program. Among many things, she loves river walks, snail mail, and being a sister.
