Christina Martinelli is a painter and sculptor living in Brooklyn, NY. Her work deals with pareidolia as it relates to abstraction. She received her MFA in Sculpture from The Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD (2010) and her BA in Visual Art from Bennington College, VT (2008). She was a 2010 Sondheim Prize semi-finalist and has exhibited at Open Space Gallery, Baltimore, MD; Conner Contemporary, Washington, D.C.; Endless Editions Chinatown, New York, NY and Trestle Gallery, Brooklyn, NY, among others. She was an artist in residence at The Wassaic Project, NY and will be traveling to the SÍM Residency Reykjavík in Iceland this June.
