Claudia Putnam is a fiction writer and poet living on the Western Slope of Colorado with a husband, two indefatigable dogs, and a deranged cat. Her work appears in dozens of literary journals, including Confrontation, South Dakota Review, Phoebe, Cimarron Review, Barrow Street, and Poetry East. A poetry chapbook, Wild Thing in Our Known World, came out in 2013 from Finishing Line Press. She has held the George Bennett Fellowship at Phillips Exeter Academy. Her preoccupation right now is a novel manuscript, WHILE BUTCH ROBS TRAINS. Putnam facilitates writing workshops locally and will teach a poetry appreciation class in 2015. Somehow, she's managed to raise a son who has just earned a degree in physics and applied math.
