Elizabeth Tannen is a Brooklyn-raised writer now based in Minneapolis. Her essays and stories have appeared in places like The Rumpus, Salon, NPR,The Morning News, B O D Y and Burrow Press Review. She has a Bachelors degree from Macalester College and an MFA from the University of New Mexico; the Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos and the New York Mills Cultural Center in Minnesota have given her support for her work. Currently, she teaches creative writing to incarcerated men with the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop. Sometimes she writes on her blog, Dating in the Odyssey Years and contributes essays to the Huffington Post. She plans to spend her time at KHN revising her family memoir, called Close; she is also at work on a novel and a collection of poems.
