H. L. Hix’s recent books include poetry collections, American Anger and Rain Inscription, an art/poetry anthology, Ley Lines, and a volume of selected poems by Estonian peasant poet Juhan Liiv, Snow Drifts, I Sing, translated in collaboration with Jüri Talvet.  His day job is teaching philosophy at a university in the mountain west.  He writes in a converted barn, early in the morning so he can hear mice in the walls, and raccoons trundling across the roof.
