Hyewon Keum currently lives and works in Seoul. She had her first solo exhibition On The Blue Territory in 2008, which dealt with the issue of redevelopment in Korea. In 2009, with support of SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, she presented Speeding Light series in her solo exhibition. In 2011, Keum was invited to Ilmin Museum of Art to present Urban Depth project. She has participated in a number of group shows as well as in the residency programs in Korea, which are Nanji Art Studio and the National Art Studio. She won the Daum Prize organized by Parkgeonhi Foundation in 2013. Focusing on the ironic landscape of life revealed in the physical environment and changes in urban space, her works are collected by major museums in Korea including Seoul Museum of Art, Ilmin Museum of Art, Jeju Museum of Art and the Art Bank of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea.
