John Frantzen’s music has been performed at esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Memorial, China’s Shanxi Concert Hall and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Commission highlights include the Quad City Symphony, Manhattan School of Music, Nashua Chamber Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Papal Mass performance on Benjamin Parkway. He as received prizes in the 2nd International Frank Ticheli Composition Competition, Penfield Music Commission Project, and several radio broadcast performances on Performance Today. Multi-media art exhibitions at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Figge Art Museum, State Historical Museum of Iowa, and the Dubuque Museum of Art featured his music and sound design.  John has been awarded artist residencies at the Millay Colony for the Arts and the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts. Published by Manhattan Beach Music, Theodore Presser, Murphy Music Press and ECS Publishing. He currently resides in Chicago where he operates his own music production company Frantzen MusicPress.
