Lindsey Day is a visual artist currently based out of Lincoln, NE. A native of the Kansas City, Mo area, Day graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2014, and earned an MFA in painting and drawing from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019. Day has recently been recipient of the Othmer Fellowship, the Hixson-Lied Graduate Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant, and the Wendy Jane Bantam Exhibition Award. She is a current artist in residence at the Lux Center for the Arts, where she also teaches multimedia arts to the public of Lincoln, NE. Day will attend the Vermont Studio Center in the fall of 2019, preceding the Kimmel-Harding Nelson Residency in Nebraska City. Her work is done in response to forms and functions of basic human instincts, seen through the lens of allegedly organized or preventative systems.
