Holly Kranker Receives Amplify Arts 2019 Public Impact Grant

Monday, July 8, 2019

KHN Alum (2018) Holly Kranker has received the 2019 Public Impact Grant from Omaha's Amplify Arts!

"Congratulations to Holly Kranker and John Cohorst, recipients of this $10,000 award which will support their project CAR>GO (Community Activated Resource on the GO).

CAR>GO will be used as a shared meeting and workspace for artists and creatives to exchange ideas, have conversations around issues of infrastructure, and collaborate on neighborhood projects. CAR>GO, a modified cargo container, will be designed as flexible workspace that can accommodate anything from group meetings to creative studio / project space.

CAR>GO also proposes alternatives to maintaining the status quo by rethinking our approach to building infrastructure and creating a space that's scaled down, made of repurposed materials, and powered by renewable energy and biofuels.

The Public Impact Grant is awarded by an external jury of artists, arts professionals, and qualified community members to an individual artist, collaborative group, collective, or duo. The 2019 Public Impact Grant jury included Hyunjee Nicole Kim, independent writer and curator, Stephen Osberg, Director of Transportation Development at the Greater Omaha Chamber, and Amanda Smith, 2018 Artist Support Grant recipient."
