Cheryl Dyer
Cheryl Dyer is an interdisciplinary artist and poet from Omaha, Nebraska whose work integrates expressive mark-making, calligraphy, collage, printmaking, and language. In her visual work, she marries her interests in the written poetic word and writing-by-hand as she explores the communication potential of both traditional and asemic-but-energized marks. Her work explores themes of motherhood, quotidian object and experience, aging, memory, and resilience. She holds a BA in Communication and minor in Visual Art from Iowa State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. Her artwork has been shown nationally as well as featured in Letter Arts Review. She was awarded runner-up for the Helen W. Kenefick Poetry Prize twice and has had work published in several literary journals such as Good Life Review, Bellevue Literary Review, The Astorian, and River and South Review. Additionally, she works as a calligraphic scribe and instructor.
