Aubrey is a visual artist, collaborative ethnographer, educator, storyteller and memory worker. Her work is rooted in a socially-engaged practice that intersects the academic, creative, applied, and public spheres. She is a photographer by trade and a cultural
anthropologist and historical archaeologist by training. She is a PhD student in Public Humanities at the University of Wyoming. Her interdisciplinary creative practice comprised photography, video, textiles, metals, digital media, and public art. She explores labor, resistance, and community care. She is a core team member of High Iron, a multi-year public art and humanities project housed in a modified train car. Currently based in Laramie, Wyoming, High Iron will travel along the I-80 corridor, serving as a mobile oral history station and community programming site. It amplifies the voices of transcontinental railroad builders, multigenerational laborers, and contemporary rail workers and unions—highlighting labor, immigrant contribution, and care.
