Lakshmi KTP aka LAMI, an electronic music producer, violinist, vocalist, and sound designer from Kerala, has a deep understanding of Indian Classical music and an ardent aspiration for electronica. Selected by the Indian Ministry of Education, she has performed in the cultural exchange program titled JENESYS in Japan, along with multiple venues across India including Freeground festival, Kochi, Sofar Hyderabad and Kochi Muziris Biennale. Working as a sound many years, she has associated with renowned artists like Kanta Kochhar-Lindgren, Kumaradas TN, Abheesh Sasidharan, Prasad Bhat, Rima Kallingal, Hari Menon, Sanju Surendran, Sayanora Philip and Resmi Satheesh. ‬ ‭Lakshmi’s creations are experimental and mostly genre-less.‬ Mentioned by Indian Music Diaries
as “one of the most interesting electronic projects to emerge from Kochi”, Lakshmi embraces the genre-less nature of her work utilising sounds from her surroundings, archives, samples, acoustic as well as electronic instruments. ‭She releases her music as an independent artist in major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music under the artist name LAMI.‬ Lakshmi finished her Masters and M Phil degrees in comparative literature from University of Hyderabad and has submitted a research thesis focusing on disability studies, intersectionality and human rights. She acquired her diploma in audio engineering from Soundtech Media, Chennai.
