HOCKET is a new cutting edge piano duo based in Los Angeles. Members, Sarah Gibson and Thomas Kotcheff (KHN alum 2014), are both pianist-composers dedicated to commissioning and performing contemporary music. The duo recently commissioned 50 composers to join them in their new project #What2020SoundsLike.

According to their website, "2020 has been a year with unprecedented mental, emotional, physical, and sociological effects. 50 commissioned composers have been invited to musically respond to this year with miniatures written for piano duo. These miniatures will be released weekly on HOCKET’s social media (@HOCKETensemble) from mid-June, through September 2020. The project will culminate in a live streamed performance of the pieces on August 22, 2020 and an album release at the end of the year." Follow the project at HOCKET.org/What2020SoundsLike
